Lecture Genius does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data on any server. There are no accounts, no analytics, and no third-party SDKs that collect data.

What stays on your Mac

Everything you create in Lecture Genius — audio recordings, transcripts, summaries, quizzes, flashcards, and study guides — is stored only in this app's local application data on your Mac. It is never uploaded anywhere.

On-device processing

• Speech recognition uses Apple's on-device Speech framework (requiresOnDeviceRecognition) — audio is transcribed locally and never sent to Apple or anyone else.
• AI summarization uses Apple's on-device Apple Intelligence (Foundation Models framework), which runs entirely on your Mac's hardware.

Permissions

The app requests Microphone and Speech Recognition access solely to record and transcribe lectures you choose to record. You can revoke these at any time in System Settings → Privacy & Security.

In-App Purchase

Purchases are processed entirely by Apple via StoreKit. We never see or store your payment information.
